This is the most accurate term for what you described as “one color.” Highlights Strategically placed lighter sections throughout the hair to create dimension and contrast. This can include traditional highlights, partial highlights, or customized placement depending on the desired result. Ombré A graduated color technique where the hair transitions from a darker base into progressively lighter ends. The transition can be subtle or dramatic. Custom Color A personalized color service designed around the client’s desired result and starting canvas. This may combine multiple techniques such as lightening, depositing, toning, highlights, lowlights, color melting, or ombré to achieve the final look.
